Support for Renishaw® REVO and PH-20 5-Axis CMM Probing
Verisurf AUTOMATE CMM programming application includes interface, programming and control for the Renishaw REVO and PH20 5-axis probing systems. Through the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI), Verisurf establishes the integrated connection with Renishaw’s I++ international standard communications protocol. Verisurf AUTOMATE includes all of the special programming features that are peculiar to 5-axis probing as distinguished from the more common 3-axis configuration of automated CMMs.
To support 5-axis probing systems like Renishaw® REVO and PH-20, 5-axis pathing methods from Verisurf software deliver high-performance measuring speed and flexibility. There are extensive productivity gains offered by 5-axis probing, as it dramatically reduces the number of setups and special fixturing. It also allows fewer probe changes and reduces the need for custom probes.
Verisurf AUTOMATE provides fast and easy 5-axis programming to support the use of the Renishaw PH-20 and REVO probe heads. The Automate Generate-Path feature adds programming support for all 5-axis “head touches” and 5-axis tactile scanning.
With 5-axis probing, points are measured by articulation of the probe head, a much more efficient and accurate set of dynamic events than 3-axis probing. It benefits by reducing the movement of the heavy mass of the CMM’s XYZ structure, and diminishes the effects of inertia on the CMM’s accuracy at higher speeds.
5-Axis CMM Programming
Programming a 5-axis probe head, with its off-axis angles and movements, requires additional software features to accomplish these program moves and to make otherwise complex tasks, easier.
Verisurf 5-axis programming is unlike any traditional CMM’s programming. Automate is an easy to use, easy to learn, object-based live simulation program that uses click, drag, rotate, scroll, and push-pull commands to quickly program inspection routines, all while maintaining clearances and providing a visual representation of the true path display.
