High Performance 5-Axis CMM Programming Powered by Verisurf

At IMTS 2026, Verisurf will showcase advanced 5-axis CMM programming, machine operation, and quality reporting on a CMM equipped with a REVO multi-sensor head, showing CMM programmers and quality managers how to increase inspection throughput without sacrificing confidence in measurement results.

The REVO 5-axis multi-sensor system combines high-speed tactile scanning, surface finish analysis, ultrasonic thickness measurement, part temperature measurement, non-contact vision, and structured light inspection on a single CMM platform. For quality teams, this means fewer setups, fewer probe changes, and a more complete inspection process on a single machine.

Unlike conventional 3-axis systems with fixed probes or indexing heads, 5-axis motion enables the stylus to follow a continuous path around complex components without repeatedly leaving the surface to reindex. Synchronized CMM and probe-head motion helps produce optimized tip paths, reduce non-productive moves, and minimize dynamic errors during high-speed measurement.

Verisurf is Different

Verisurf CMM programming leverages REVO 5-axis motion with advanced measurement strategies such as Curve Scan, Pocket Scan, and Spiral Scan—techniques designed to help programmers capture complex geometry more efficiently, and quality managers improve repeatability in demanding inspection applications.

With 5-axis probing, measurement points are captured by articulating the probe head rather than moving the full mass of the CMM structure for every feature. This reduces machine motion, lowers the effects of inertia, and supports faster inspection cycles while helping maintain accuracy at higher measurement speeds.

Verisurf Automate replaces traditional code-heavy CMM programming with an object-based, CAD-driven workflow. Programmers can build and edit inspection routines visually, simulate probe paths, verify clearances, and respond to model geometry in real time—reducing programming time and making complex 5-axis inspections easier to learn, validate, and repeat.

Verisurf 2027 Delivers More

Visit Verisurf at IMTS 2026 to see Verisurf 2027 CMM programming software, including enhanced vector control for go-to points within Automate. The new capability gives users more control over clearance and movement direction while preserving the defined go-to point location.

For CMM programmers, enhanced vector control makes it easier to visualize shaft motion, optimize machine movement, and reduce setup time for complex 5-axis inspection applications. For quality managers, it supports more predictable execution, better collision avoidance planning, and greater confidence before programs are released to production.

Two new right-click speed-menu options—Set Vector from CAD and Set Vector Dynamic—give users more flexibility when defining approach, clearance, and movement directions while maintaining the programmed go-to point.

Together, Verisurf 2027 enhancements simplify inspection planning, improve usability for 5-axis CNC CMM head systems such as the Renishaw REVO and PH20, and give quality teams more intuitive control over programming, simulation, and validation of inspection
