Increases Machining Efficiency, Closes the Digital Loop

Anaheim, Calif. – November 3, 2025 – Verisurf Software, Inc. is proud to announce the release of Machine Tool Probing (MTP) for all Haas 3- and 5-axis CNC machines equipped with Next Generation Controllers (NGC) 2016 and later. Powered by Verisurf’s popular Automate software, Verisurf MTP enables no-code, in-process inspection routines to be programmed and executed directly on the CNC machine, allowing operators to measure, inspect, and adjust parts without removing them from the machine.

By integrating inspection and machining into a single workflow, MTP helps manufacturers reduce scrap, improve first-part yield, and close the digital manufacturing loop. Quality control is streamlined without interrupting setup or losing alignment, delivering a faster path from setup to finished part.

Extending Model-Based Metrology to the Machine Tool

As the only CAD/CAM-based metrology software on the market, Verisurf continues to lead in Model-Based Definition (MBD). MTP extends Verisurf’s advanced measurement and inspection capabilities beyond traditional coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and directly into the machining environment.

Key Benefits of Verisurf MTP:

  • Inspect parts or features directly on the machine without removal
  • View real-time inspection results during machining
  • Full GD&T reporting, including profile and position errors
  • Catch out-of-tolerance features before completing the cycle
  • Perform best-fit alignments directly on the machine
  • Automatically update macro variables, tool offsets, and wear compensation
  • Avoid alignment errors caused by unclamping/reclamping
  • Record and report inspection data for quality control and compliance
  • Reduce setup time, rework, and scrap while improving first-part yield

“MTP empowers machinists to measure, inspect, and adjust directly on their Haas machine, eliminating reliance on gauges and go/no-go fixtures,” said Ernie Husted, President of Verisurf Software. “By comparing the physical part to its virtual twin – the CAD model – manufacturers can close the digital manufacturing loop with greater accuracy and efficiency.”

Smarter In-Process Inspection and Adaptive Control

Verisurf MTP supports target-feature inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), and finished-part inspection, making it ideal for large or heavy parts that are impractical to move off the machine. Because MTP maintains the original setup, alignment errors from reclamping are eliminated.

The result: shorter cycle times, higher-quality parts, and more efficient QA handoffs. While MTP enhances machining efficiency and process control, it complements rather than replaces dedicated CMM systems used for finished-part inspection – especially in higher-volume production runs.

A Unified Platform for CAM and CAI

Built on the Mastercam platform, Verisurf delivers a unified environment for Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI). This integration minimizes file management, accelerates feedback loops, and reinforces process control by linking inspection data directly to machining adjustments.

Verisurf’s open architecture and universal compatibility make it a true enterprise metrology solution. Supporting all major CMMs, portable arms, laser trackers, and CAD systems, it enables manufacturers to consolidate workflows, standardize inspection procedures, and preserve the digital thread from design through production. By connecting data from multiple machines and devices, Verisurf ensures traceable, repeatable quality control across the organization.

Verisurf Software, Inc. is a measurement solutions company dedicated to advancing manufacturing through surface analysis, quality inspection, assembly guidance, and reverse engineering. Built on a powerful CAD/CAM foundation, Verisurf supports open standards, universal compatibility, and full interoperability with all CMMs and CAD systems. Its mission is to help manufacturers maintain a connected digital workflow from design through inspection, delivering high quality parts in less time, every time. www.verisurf.com
