When measuring only partial regions of large radius circles, cylinders, and spheres, form error and measurement process uncertainty can have an undue effect on the calculated radius.
Verisurf solves this problem through range reporting for radius characteristics. After measurement the feature is added to the Report Manager where the radius is fixed to the nominal value and the feature is recalculated.
When the range function is applied to the feature the diameter, radius, and circumference characteristics report the min and max values based on the feature measurements. Range reporting for radius dimensions supports both manual and automated inspection plans.
