Tech Tip: Dynamic Datum Reference Frames

When measuring any part, feature and profile measurements must be taken using the same reference coordinate frame so that results are consistent and repeatable. This is generally achieved through the specification and use of datums included in the GD&T callouts on a CAD model. New REVERSE Tools Simplify Point Cloud- and Mesh to Solid Model Workflows

Reverse engineering workflows typically include fitting CAD entities to one or more point-cloud meshes. The 2019 release of Verisurf REVERSE includes an improved 2D Slice function that provides finer control when creating 2D geometry using the current screen orientation. The new Export to Edge Splines tool (mesh speed menu) creates closed-edge splines from free mesh edges on the current CAD level.
