Using Verisurf V5

Recognizing industry’s rapid movement towards integrated PLM operations with emphasis on digital manufacturing, Verisurf has released their new inspection solution Verisurf V5, a system that works inside Catia version 5.  With a number of significant aerospace programs announcing commitment to the V5 platform, Verisurf saw it as another opportunity to strengthen its position as a leader in coordinate measuring technology.

The new application provides a fully integrated add-on to a user’s existing seat of Catia V5.  With Verisurf’s already proven device interface package, it provides powerful real-time inspection and computer-aided assembly, all operating within the Catia V5 CAD system.  This means users of coordinate measuring devices such as CMMs, laser trackers, and articulating arms can work live with the native Catia model, requiring no translators.  In addition to the ability to align and inspect to the V5 model in real time, Verisurf also gives the user, live measurement functionality and powerful analysis capabilities all within the V5 environment.  Also of significant importance is Verisurf V5’s ability to utilize Catia’s native FTA (functional tolerancing & annotation) including the all-important GD&T (geometrical dimensioning & tolerancing).  This new technology is one of Verisurf’s numerous advancements that are closing the process loop and bringing true model-based manufacturing to industry.
