FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Anaheim, California – October 26, 2005
License Agreement Provides Lockheed Martin and Others the AIMS Option for
Verisurf Software
Verisurf Software, Inc. has signed a licensing agreement with Metronor AS
allowing Verisurf’s AIMS-integrated metrology software to be marketed and sold
to Lockheed Martin and other potential users in addition to Boeing where it has
been available for some time. AIMS is an enabling software platform developed by
Boeing and Metronor and integrated by Verisurf with their powerful model-based
inspection and manufacturing metrology software. It enables Verisurf to readily
exchange geometry-related data along with an integrated measurement plan and
comprehensive inspection database (knowledge base) with no loss of information
or accuracy.
Lockheed Martin has adopted the AIMS platform in production of the F-35 Joint
Strike Fighter as part of an aggressive MBD (model based definition) process
strategy. “The availability of Verisurf’s powerful metrology solution fully
integrated with AIMS gives companies such as Lockheed Martin many opportunities
for their metrology devices such as laser trackers, photogrammetry, portable
CMMs, and laser projectors, while reaping the benefits of the lean principles
afforded by AIMS,” stated Scott Knoche, Director of Sales and Marketing at
Verisurf Software, Inc.
Troy Niehaus, Vice President of the AIMS business unit of Metronor commented,
“This agreement formalizes several years of work that Verisurf has spent already
working with AIMS technology. By integrating with our most current release,
Verisurf’s customers will soon be able to realize the latest benefits and fully
share consistent manufacturing requirements across their entire supply chain.”
